Humidity Control Silica Gel

In some places, the underlying structure of houses is composed of wood. High humidity may cause termites and mold to attack the wooden structure, giving rise to problems which will threaten the house. SINCHEM humidity control silica gel is manufactured for the control of the moisture at the bottom of the floor. Meanwhile it can keep the humidity below 90% well, thus to prevent the growth of mold which grows in an environment when the relative humidity is over 90%. Moisture absorption capability
We recommend 3 kilogram of humidity control silica gel for each square meter space under the floor. This can ensure maximum water absorption of approximately 2.4kg. When the floor temperature is 20℃ and the relative humidity is about 90%, the amount of moisture in the air is about 15.3g/m3 which can be absorbed easily by Sinchem humidity control silica gel.

The humidity control function
At high humidity levels, exceeding 50%, the humidity control silica gel absorbs moisture from the air in a positive manner. However, at lower humidity levels less than 50%, its moisture absorption capability becomes weak, thus maintaining proper humidity level. Moreover, when the surrounding humidity becomes extremely low, the silica gel may release moisture.

Generally, treated wood is used in new home construction. However, even treated wood can afford somewhat water content. If the area underneath a house has a relatively high humidity and the humid state continues, the water content of the wood continues to rise and bacteria will eventually rot the wood causing decay.
