Property and application
Anhydrous sodium sulfate is a white crystalline solid, easily soluble in water. It tastes salty and bitter.
The sodium sulfate is mainly used in vinylon, sodium silicate, dyeing, filler of detergent, glass, paper, leather, metal smelting, surface treatment, filler industries, etc. It can also be used in the manufacture of sodium sulfide. In addition, it can be used in the medicine like diuretics, laxatives, antidote, etc. Metal detergent using sodium sulfate is an ideal substitute for sodium phosphate, and it offers better cleaning function. Meanwhile, sodium sulfate also assists in reducing the production cost.
